Where to begin…
Brandon and I have long desired to have children and raise them for the Glory of God. God put this mission on our hearts long before we ever knew each other existed. When we met, through St. Cecelia’s church 16 years ago, we knew God had amazing and challenging plans for us. We were so excited to begin our journey and started dating. We dated for a year and on our one year anniversary Brandon proposed before the tabernacle. We took a year to plan our wedding and then exchanged our vows at St. Cecelia’s church 13 years ago.
Soon after we got married we were overjoyed to be blessed with the pregnancy of our little boy Gabriel Jacob Horn. Gabriel was born early at 24 weeks and lived for 3 days. He is now in heaven looking over us. We currently have 5 little ones in heaven who never got a chance to see this beautiful world in person but we know they are praying for us. We have seen specialist and the consensus is that I am unable to get pregnant again, although we always still hope.
We have taken several years to pray and discern our call to adoption. This call has become even more clear over the last few years. God has placed several families in our lives who have adopted for us to “pick their brains” sort of speak. What a blessing this has truly been!
We know all to well that “it takes a village,” and this endeavor to adopt is certainly no exception to that phrase. First and foremost, we absolutely would love and appreciate your continued prayers for us, for our adoption / foster to adopt agency, and especially for our future child, birth parents, and current caregivers. We are hoping to adopt a child who is 5 years old or older. The reason we are adopting older is because we know that the older a child is the harder it is for them to be adopted. This is what God has called us to do.
Of course adoption is very expensive but we know God will make a way financially. I will be sharing more details including: our heart for adoption, important updates, and “glory stories” throughout this journey. So please choose to follow and check back regularly. Again, we love you all and truly cannot thank you enough for all the support! Our ‘village’ really has to be the best village! We have challenging and exciting journey before us and we would love your support.
“The things we pray for, good Lord, give us grace to labor for.” -Thomas More
